PROBATE VALUATIONS

As a respected UK auction house we have experts in house and others we can call on to give full probate valuations on almost any aspect of an estate.

Contents valuations
Most estates just require an independent overall valuation of the contents and this will be carried out by one of our in house general valuers. We will supply you with a basic written report and if this is required in conjunction with a general house clearance quote then this service is normally free of charge.

If the property contains a number of items of high value such as quality antique furniture, Jewelry or fine art, then this may require a more qualified and detailed valuation for Inland Revenue purposes. In these cases we have in house experts in most cases. Due to the detail required within the report and the qualifications needed, we do unfortunately have to make a charge for this service. The charges will depend entirely on the number of items, the research required and the time it takes. We will however give you a fixed price before we commence any work.

Property Valuations
In most cases London properties are of a much higher value than the rest of the UK and many will be over the death duties bracket or near to the limit. As such the Inland Revenue generally asks for at least two independent valuations from qualified surveyors. They are likely to question valuations from a general estate agent without the necessary qualifications. House Clearance London has a large body of such qualified people on our books with whom we can arrange these necessary valuations on your behalf. Again there is unfortunately an agreed fixed charge, which will vary according to your location. In any event due to the large volume of business we handle we can generally negotiate a far better rate than you could achive directly..
